Sweet and Sour Pickle

An instant pickle is usually prepared in every home in summer season. It's sweet and sour taste enjoys with daal chawal and vegetables. It's also eaten with parathas in breakfast.

Ingredients

Raw mango/kaire ½ kg

Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Mustard seed 1 tsp
-
Nigella seeds 1 tsp
-
Chili flakes 2 tsp or to taste

Chili powder 1/2 tsp

Coriander seed (ground) 2 tbsp

Aniseed ½ tsp (optional)

Coriander powder 2 tsp

Turmeric powder 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Sugar 3-4 tbsp

Oil ½ cup

Water ½ cup
Cooking Directions

Wash raw mangoes and cut in to long pieces along with peel.

Heat oil, add cumin seed and nigella seed, crackle them.

Add sliced raw mangoes and stir spoon for 2 minutes and add chili flakes, coriander seeds, and aniseed, mustard seed, coriander powder, chili powder, turmeric and salt, also add 1/4 cup of water and cover to tenderize for 4-5 minutes.

When tenderized add sugar and mix.

Ready to serve with rice, daal and vegetables.

Note: If you do not like raw mango with peel in launji then you can peel the skin off.
