Blooming Onion

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion

  • 150 grams flour

  • 5 grams salt

  • 1 tablespoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 2 eggs

  • Dip:

  • 20 grams cream cheese

  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise

  • Dried oregano

  • Dried rosemary

Cooking Directions

  • Slice your onion about 3/4 of the way down, being careful not to cut to the bottom. Spread the petals apart to make coating easier.

  • Combine flour, paprika, salt and cayenne pepper and mix well. Coat the onion with mixture and shake off excess.

  • Dip the onion in the egg to cover completely. Then coat with the flour mixture a second time, making sure to shake off any excess.

  • Fry in hot oil until crispy and golden brown.

  • Combine ingredients for the dip and mix well. Serve the blooming onion with the dip.
